At the start of his good man's career, the Mortenson became co-founder of the CAI (Central Asia Institute). It is a non-profit organization that supervises building of an almost two hundred elevating education and schools for girls.

As the Central Asia Institute tells us, those educational institutions give education to 70 thousand children a year. There are not many educational opportunities existed earlier in Afghanistan and Pakistan, especially in the most remote regions.
