The Venus Evil by Chester S. Geier

Everyone remembers the anger created by the pre-sponsorship launch of the first rocket to Mars, where a government project reached the same goal within a few months. The government rocket blew up a short distance beyond the Heaviside Tier, but a little more than a year and a half later, the privately-owned spaceship returned. And it aroused a new fear, not because of the successful return of the expedto, as it brought a great fortune in gold, platinum and precious stones. Each of the explorers and supporters was made financially independent for the rest of their lives. Man's natural drink was so excited to be ignited. Planets were no longer viewed as milestones on the road to knowledge but as deposits of great treasures. More rockets were hurriedly launched by various groups and different countries, but the initiatives were defeated by the mobility that encouraged them. Constructed very quickly and efficiently, the rockets exploded shortly after leaving Earth or were never heard from again when they reached space.
